Strategic Planning for Non-Profits
Strategic Planning for Non-Profits utilizes a research-based educational approach to diagnose issues, identify needs, develop a process, and engage stakeholders. Through this planning process, UW Cooperative Extension teaches non-profit organizations how to identify when change is necessary and develop an effective goal implementation strategy. Past participants in this program include the Village of Hartland, Association for the Rights of Citizens with Handicaps, and the Downtown Waukesha Business Improvement District. For more information, please contact us at 262-548-7770.
Walk One Hour in My Shoes/Camina Una Hora en Mis Zapatos
The Latino/Hispanic population continues to increase, yet many professionals struggle to effectively service this growing population. UW Extension’s Walk One Hour in My Shoes/Camina Una Hora en Mis Zapatos workshop instructs participants how to be culturally competent. The curriculum focuses on building and understanding the diverse Latino/Hispanic population, including new immigrants, families who have been in the United States for generations and others in between. Participants will gain a better understanding of Latino culture and learn tools to assist them in working with this population. For more information or to schedule a workshop, please contact Stormy Cooley at 608-263-1096 or by email at stormy.cooley@ces.uwex.edu. This four hour workshop requires a $25 commitment fee due upon confirmation.
