Tower Hill (formerly West Side)
How Can You Get Involved?
1. Neighborhood Block Clubs and Crime Watch:
Join one of the seven Towe Hill Block Clubs or even start your own! Block clubs offer a collective voice to improve the living conditions by improving the physical environment, stopping crime, working with city officials and increasing social interaction.
2. Community Gardens:
The Tower Hill Community Garden is in its seventh year of providing a gardening opportunity for residents in the Tower Hill Neighborhood (neighborhood surrounding Waukesha Memorial Hospital). The lot is owned by Waukesha Memorial Hospital. While Waukesha Memorial Hospital mows the lawn and provides the water at the garden, Waukesha County UW Cooperative Extension provides weekly horticulture and nutrition education as well as the vegetables and seeds. Tower Hill residents work together to plant, maintain, and harvest the vegetables. And click here for more background on this community garden.
3. Tower Hill Steering Committee:
This committee is made up of residents, community partners, elected officials and school personnel. We are looking for new faces and new ideas to help make Tower Hill an even better place to live! Join us in planning events and activities in your neighborhood.
4. Drug Free Communities Coalition
The Waukesha County Drug Free Communities Coalition consists of individuals and organizations across the county working together to reduce substance abuse among local youth. Their efforts include targeting alcohol, over-the-counter prescription drugs, and illegal (as well as legal) drugs.
Funding for the West Side Neighborhood has been provided, in part, by Waukesha County through the use of Community Development Block Grant funds made available by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Additional funding comes from the Youth Collaborative of Waukesha County/United Way and the Greater Milwaukee Elinor Gallun Pritzlaff Fund.| Name | Program Area/Title | Phone | |
