Haertel Field
Located around Central Middle School, Haertel Field neighbors have been busy building a stronger neighborhood by creating block clubs, hosting educational events, connecting neighbors with resources and partnering with local agencies in strategic action. Each year, Waukesha County UW Cooperative Extension connects with hundreds of residents through educational opportunities in the Haertel Field Neighborhood. Were you one of those residents?
How can you get involved?
1. Join the Haertel Field Neighborhood Advisory Team
This group is made up of residents, elected officials and agency personnel. we are looking for new faces and new ideas to help make the neighborhood an even better place to live!
2. Join or help create a Neighborhood Block Club
The goal of a block club is to improve the living conditions for all neighbors; improving the physical environment, preventing crime, working with city officials and increasing social interaction between neighbors. If you live in Haertel Field, consider starting your own block club or joining one!
3. Participation in Neighborhood Educational Opportunties
4. Join the Drug Free Communities Coalition
DrugFreeCommunities consists of individuals and organizations across the county working together to reduce substance abuse among local youth. Their efforts include targeting alcohol, over-the-counter prescription drugs, and illegal (as well as legal) drugs. The coalition is looking to work with residents in Haertel Field to help identify neighborhood issues and develop solutions.
